The #1 Unhealthiest Fast-Food Item In America

The folks at “Eat This, Not That!” have teamed up dietitian Amy Goodson to unveil the absolute #1 unhealthiest item in America.

One of the worst? Okay, two, actually. Shake Shack’s Link Burger Triple and Wendy’s Big Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger Triple

The winner? Believe it or not, clocking in at 1,499 calories, 149-grams of fat and…drumroll…4,755mg of sodium…it’s the Burger King’s Spicy Ch’Kin Deluxe Sandwich.

Goodson says that the breading on the chicken and mayonnaise-based sauce crank up the fat and sodium levels…add a fried side item you have even more of a calorie and sodium nightmare. For the record, the recommended daily amount is 23-hundred milligrams.

To compare Popeyes’ Spicy Chicken sandwich racks up 700-cals, 42-grams of fat and 1,474-mg of sodium and Wendy’s Classic Big Bacon Cheddar has 810-calories, 45-grams of fat and 2,250mg of sodium.

As Goodson puts it: “A good rule of thumb is that if you are eating half your daily calories and more than half of the daily fat and sodium intake in one item, it is likely not the best choice.”
